gud evening sir
i read ur blogs and finally wanna ask a lot of ques… i am in 3rd yr of engineering frm electrical brnch n m nt able to decide for which post to apply for? m passionate about navy and airforce but wanna go for ground duty branches as for other post there would be physical exertion. Im 155.5cm and weigh 69 kg right now i know i wud hav to loose 18kg.. sir but plz tell me dat even for the logistic field is weight to height ratio a mandatory thing to worry on

Ankita Tomar, you must understand that every one in the army is a soldier. same in the navy and airforce. Maintaining a good physical standard is a part and parcel of our life here. So to some extent there will be physical fitness required

3 abhay February 13, 2012 at 8:03 am

why you want to join air force rather than army or navy this is the most expected q what should i answer sir is it right to say that i wanna fighter pilot

Good Evening Sir,
I got recommended for Indian Navy as a Technical Officer having SSC. My joining is in July this year. I have some queries.
1. What are the chances of getting PC ? If not, then what opportunities Navy provide after SSC ?
2. For what duration, do we remain on ship at a stretch, after commissioning?
2. Being a vegetarian, will it be easy to follow my food habits while on ship ?

Reply

9 KUMAR April 3, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Dear Bhavesh, congratulations on being recommended!!!!
1. There are ample chances for getting Permanent commission, but that is subject to your performance!!! Navy also provides a lot of opportunities to build yourself for a career post retirement. Special reserved seats for serving Officers of Navy in M.Tech from IIT Mumbai,Chennai,Delhi,IIS Bangalore and MBA from all IIMs are available before retirement provided you do well in service and clear the internal exams and interview!!!

2. Are you speaking about an appointment or sailing at sea?!????? Sailing worst case scenario you may sail for 3 months out of your base port if you go for some foreign deployment (which is actually fun)!! One tenure on a ship is followed by 2 to 3 tenures in the dockyard/ trial unit/ repair yard/ DRDO/ teaching billets etc.!!!

3. Bhavesh dont worry. You will find that more than half the people onboard ships are vegetarians. It is a different issue that all vegetarians keep cribbing and crying about the partiality meted out to them in fauj as they donot get something equivalent to chicken, prawns and lobsters etc hahahaaaa. Just kidding. You can very well follow your dietry preference.

10 pramod February 17, 2013 at 5:49 pm

heyy.. i wanna know the same thing!
can vegetarians be strong soldiers or should i start eating meat before joining navy ?

Thank u sir for ur guidance. You are enlightning many young military enthusiast like me.I have cleared ssb for army also. But I hope to join Navy and waiting for merit. Sir, actually I want to ask is being a tech officer how much long one spends on a ship, say in a month.

Hi, I have done my BMS Bachelors of Management Studies from Mumbai university, as I was seeing the advertisement for PC Navy logistics, people who have done BBA or BBM are eligible to apply, since there is no BBA or BBM in Mumbai uni. I was wondering if I would be eligible to apply coz BBA , BBM, BMS have the same syllabus. There subject modules are same.
Thanks

This is very interesting and encouraging. My 7 year old son dreams of becoming a Navy officer for India. I never told him about Navy or Army etc. He just picked this up and for the past 2 yrs his target has not changed. Every passing day I can see his determination and discipline improving as I said if you want to be in Navy, you need to be disciplined, have proper food and living habits!!! I wish his dream comes true one day!!! I am waiting for that day…

Sir,

I just wanted to ask is there any previledge for airman to join officers rank..??

Reply

33 uday1 December 16, 2012 at 1:14 am

What kind of previlege are you talking about. There is no special discount for airman. Actually speaking the competition out there to become an officer among the airmen is higher than the normal stream.

It’s as effective as ever, but it’s a waste of
an acting talent. Besides the semi-nauseating smell
of sulphur perfume ghosts have been reported to give of the
smell of decaying meat, excrement, vomit, body
odor, sour milk and ripe garbage. L’Oreal acknowledges the fact that the perfumes were what made Lancome what it is today—a famous brand not just of perfumes but also of skincare and cosmetics products.
