EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

by Uday Kumar on February 29, 2012

While listing your extra-curricular activities you must make sure that you have adequate knowledge of the activities, as the interviewer could quiz you on this. Very often people list a whole lot of extra curricular activities on the hope of impressing the interviewer. This is dangerous and could well lead to being trapped by the shrewd interviewers. It is best to confine the list to a few activities with which you are familiar. Always list achievements rather than activities. For example:

Achievements: was school pupil leader, senior cricket team captain, etc.

Activity: play cricket, take part in field games, etc.

You can mention activities as simple and as easy such as cycling, trekking, swimming, etc,. You need not have to impress the interviewer by saying that you do rappling , scuba diving at sea, white water rafting, catching snakes ,etc,.

RESPECTED SIR,IF I HAVE NOT GONE THROUGH ACTIVITIES LIKE HIKING,TRACKING,MOUNTAINEERING,RIVER RAFTING,THEN CAN I WRITE THE STORIES RELATED TO THESE ACTIVITIES.I AM ASKING THIS QUESTION BECAUSE GENERALLY IT IS CALLED THAT YOUR STORIES SHOULD MATCH WITH YOUR SOCIO ECONOMIC BACKGROUND.IN THAT CASE WHAT WE SHOULD DO.

Dear Sunil, definitely u can write stories regarding them…but do not write your PQ with these activities as your hobbies and activities you do!!!! Not necessarily your story has to match with your socio economic situation !!!!

Nakul Singh, you dont need certificates!!!! for example you dont need certificates to prove you play tennis. If you know the game thats enough provided you can answer something if asked about that game!!!
