SSB Experience of S V ARAVIND

by Uday Kumar on February 28, 2011

sir,
I cleared my ssb in 7th attemt (previous 6 were screened out) for army and declared medically fit.this blog also helped me a lot.thanks for all the persons helped and prayed for me.here is my experience
screnning
lot of people believes that scoring 80% marks in verbal and non verbal, and a possitive story wil clear screening .totally wrong.officers will correct verbal and non verbal but only matters in merit list
2nd thing officers will not read the story your narration is very important if the officers understands your story you are in.then how u politely speaks in group and your body language matters.sit in a relaxed and calm manner
this is my experience from screening
what i done this time was i wrote a realistic story and narrated in a very good manner i didnt speak at all in GD,BUT I LISTENED CAREFULLY AND OBSERVRD OTHERS.I GOT SCREENED IN.

2ND DAY
TAT they will purposly show pictues of house burningmboy drowning like that
if a picture of house burning shows pls dnt write that ur neighbours house was burning you reached there planned the rescue operations saved life like that bcoz majority of us dont experienced such things in life.connect every story with your PIQ
WAT
FOR EG the word is help-you may write helping others is a pleasure.the gto wil chek ur hlping mentality in gto tasks
srt
there is not neccesary to complete 60 srt.te psychologist are experienced enough to catch u in the 1st 10 srt.read each question carefully trhen answer.
self description
ask to ur parents.friends what think about you…
MOST IMPORTANT A HONEST PERSON HAVE REALATION BETWEEN PIQ,WAT,TAT,SRT &SD
INTERVIEW VERY IMPORTANT
HE WIL CHECK FOR UR HONESTY BY CONNECTING TO UR PSYCHOLGICAL TEST IF YOU LIE A SINGLE WORD YOU ARE OUT BCOZ HONESTY IS A QUALITY OF AN OFFICER
GTO
in gto be a teamman, and be natural
my humble suggestion to all my fellow aspirants.
-dont prepare anything for ssb
-go with an open mind
-take the blessings of ur parents
-dont compete with others
-enjoy the selection process
-u will get recommended
-make lot of friends
bciz of limited time iam not posting the tat pictures and interview experience i will post it soon
may god bless you all
thank you

THANK YOU ARAVIND FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH US…YOUR POST WILL SURELY BENEFIT OTHERS

if u have 2 clear the 1st round its very simple open your mouth &talk confidently like a king

Reply

ARAVIND SV March 19, 2011 at 5:06 am

my humble suggestion for all the aspirants
dont look for any ones advice for ssb even from recommended people
u have 2 use your own psychology
before the start of psychologytest the psychologist explain
like this
here v r going 2 show 11 pics +1blank slide each pic remain in the screen for 30s & u vl b given 4mins 2 write a story, the story should be like this
1what leads to the situation
2 what is happening
3 what is the probable out come
write the story as it comes without giving importance to the beauty of words
here the problem is 90% people dont follow these instructions they will manipulate stories pls dont take advice from any one even the psychologist attends ssb there is no guarantee he/she pass it.use ur own psychology then only everyone will clear ssb

Reply

Kumar March 29, 2011 at 5:45 am

Karri Vinod, there is no chance to apply for the armed forces since there has been a Integrated Headquarters decision that people who have failed/arrears in any semester shoud not be eligible to apply… but a lot of ifs and buts were discussed and later it was said that the backloggers must have adequate percentage to prove their mettle…in my opinion you must try for coast gaurd whole heartedly

rajesh March 26, 2011 at 9:42 pm

hii arvind. it really takes a big man to share his success and failure.. and hope your experience should help many..

Yes you are correct.. never compete with any one as “”FOR YOU TO WIN, NO ONE NEEDS TO LOOSE””
Thanks arvind.

Sir I have applied for SSC-38 ( TECH ) and Indian Navy’s pilot entry …..I juz want to ask three things …first thing is I had backlogs in my engineering which i cleared by doing a lot of hard work and at the end i have secured 78.45% …will it be a problem ?? ..the second question is abt my low percentage in class 12th ….do Navy consider ur class 12th mathematics and Physics number bekoz i got very very low marks in these two subjects ??? …. army didn’t ask for class 12th numbers 🙁 ….the third question is abt my weight …..I am 70 kilos and my height is 5 feet 9.5 inches….2 month ago I was around 83 kilos but after starting daily workouts i have reduced my weight to 70 kilos .am i still overweight considering my bones are a bit heavy ????

@kumar – Sir ive cleared AFSB in my 1st attempt and my medical is on the 23rd of april…….. While i was reading about the tests and all i discovered that while i stand with my feet touching together my knees almost touch each other. I havent had any problem while running or walking EVER.. But my stamina is low… I want to know if i Have knock knees?? Also how do they make us stand while detecting the condition??

Reply

KUMAR February 6, 2012 at 3:09 pm

Harpreet I dont think you have a knock knees…. During the test they make you stand with your inner part of your heel joining together and toes making a small V shape.

Sir, I Have a query .. r sweating palms an indication of being unfit for indian armed forces??

Reply

KUMAR March 25, 2012 at 6:37 am

Yes grees, sweating palm is a cause of rejection in the armed forces. But you must understand that all of us have sweating palm but at a lesser levels…people with excessive sweating in palms are only rejected !!! its better to asses your condition/amount of sweat before you come to a conclusion that you have excessive sweating in palm

rohit March 28, 2012 at 10:17 am

greesh March 31, 2012 at 8:50 am

but sir problem is civilian doctors can’t tell the exact level to which sweating palms are permissible in forces and its not like my palms sweat all the time.
like there is a procedure of checking knock knees , can u tell me by what procedure sweating palms are checked by medical board ??

i hope you are in good spirits . I haven’t seen your comments or replies from last couple of months.
I had a query regarding my physical fitness .
Sir, i never had a fracture anywhere but my both forearms are little more tilted from the elbows than usual . Sometimes it creates little bit of confusion in me and affects my confidence.
Kindly reply when you get free.
Thank you.

Avinash Ranjan, dont worry, if it doesnot affect your performance of doing any physical activity like pushups, pullups, etc then it must not be an issue

Pawan Kumar Vishwakarma May 28, 2012 at 8:10 pm

Sir,

I have given SSB of airforce for 3 times and all the time i was conference out. I have some questions like is PI form’s information and the stories that you write will have some connections. And also i would like to know that is language matter very much in selection process. As in my last SSB a person got selected who had given senseless ideas in military planing and he didnt gave a single idea in PGT and other group task. Also didnt able to speak lecture for 3 minute.

Last question is that what i found that you should be confident and have good command on english.
